I often find myself in nature hiking, camping, and anticipating a beautiful sunset to share with my wife and companions. For a time I was fortunate enough to live in an apartment with an ocean view and would savor the slow, colorful sunset over Catalina Island everyday. I acquired this wonderfully translucent piece of alabaster on recent trip to visit my mom in Utah, another place with gloriously colorful sunsets over the mesas. I felt this piece need to accent the luminance and vibrance of light and it was most appropriate to mimic the setting sun. This stone belongs in a location where the sun can illuminate it and share it’s full vibrance.
